Arriving at Studio ES

Studio ES is located in the heart of the historical centre of Mechelen (Flanders, between Brussels and Antwerp). The entrance of #3 (“Huis Van Lorreinen”) is a glass door between a real estate agent and a vegetarian take-away business. The white bell left to the intercom phones is for the joint practice of Studio ES and Handenwerk.

By public transport / bike

Studio ES is easily accessible by public transport, only 20 minutes by train from Antwerp, Brussels or Leuven.  The studio is within walking distance from the two stations “Mechelen” and “Nekkerspoel”. If you live closer by, we advise to arrive by bicycle. We have a locked shelter for your bike at the entrance.

By car

On Highway E19, take exit 6 “Mechelen-Noord / Mechelen-Centrum / Willebroek” and turn to direction “Centrum”.  Switch then off your GPS and trust signal boards “P-Route” instead the rest of the way. Drive straight on through the two traffic lights and then follow the signal boards to “P Grote Markt” and “P Kathedraal”. In case both are indicated as full on the “P-Route” sign, continue two more lights straight on to “P Tinel”, which is a bit longer walk, but a viable alternative.

Avoid fines, park legal!

Studio ES is located on a street that is car free from 7 AM to 6 PM. There is no free legal street parking anywhere in the immediate vicinity.

The underground garages “P Grote Markt” and “P Kathedraal” are the nearest legal parking options. 

To avoid any fines from driving on car-free streets during wrong hours, or illegal parking, I strongly advise to not use your GPS and to follow the interactive signal boards (“Parkeerwijzer”) for the public parkings instead.
